Research reference, mechanism first: Glutathione is the body’s master antioxidant. This article explains the mechanism and what the evidence does and does not support. It contains no preparation, dosing, or administration instructions.
What Glutathione Is
Glutathione (γ-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinyl-glycine) is a tripeptide built from glutamate, cysteine, and glycine — the body’s most abundant intracellular thiol and its master antioxidant. It sits at the center of cellular redox balance: neutralizing reactive oxygen species, supporting phase-II liver detoxification pathways, recycling other antioxidants, and participating in immune-cell function. The free thiol on its cysteine residue is what does the antioxidant work. Within the Flow BioLabs framework, glutathione is best understood as a foundational “cellular maintenance signal”: not a stimulant or a hormone, but the background system that keeps oxidative housekeeping running.
Oral glutathione has notoriously low bioavailability — it is largely broken down in the gut before reaching circulation. That absorption limitation is a central theme in the research literature.
A Note on Protocols
Flow BioLabs does not publish step-by-step preparation or injection instructions for this compound — that is a clinical decision that belongs with a licensed provider, not a do-it-yourself recipe.
Reported Benefits — Stated Honestly
Glutathione is associated in the literature and in practice with reduced oxidative-stress markers, support for liver detoxification, and immune modulation; skin and energy effects are frequently reported anecdotally. The mechanistic basis — glutathione’s central role in redox biology — is not in dispute. What *is* limited is standardized, peer-reviewed evidence for specific injectable dosing and for many of the cosmetic and “energy” claims, which is why we flag the standardization gap rather than paper over it.
Cautions
People with sulfur or sulfite sensitivities should be especially cautious. Because there is no approved injectable dosing guideline, candidacy is a clinical decision to make with a licensed provider.
